We'll arrive the night before so we can wake up to those incredible mountain views and have a full day to explore the wonders of Yellowstone together just an hour's drive away!
What Will We Do Each Day?
Day 1: We'll kick off with a half day exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Yellowstone National Park, where you'll capture incredible reference photos of geysers erupting, bison roaming the valleys, and the dramatic light that has inspired artists for generations—photos that will fuel your creativity for years to come.
Day 2: We'll begin your first painting, a group project designed to teach you essential techniques. I'll guide you step by step through color mixing, layering, and brushwork, so you can create a beautiful scene inspired by the majestic Teton Range visible right outside our windows. I'll be painting alongside you and providing one-on-one help to make sure your painting shines.
Day 3: We’ll finish up the fine tuning of your first painting and then it's your turn to choose your subject. Whether it's inspired by the iconic Teton Mountains, Yellowstone's wildlife, or a scene you've been dreaming of, I'll be there to help you every step of the way. With my guidance, you'll transform your vision into a painting you'll be proud to take home.
By the end of our four days together, you'll have two stunning, one-of-a-kind paintings to treasure—artwork worthy of a collector's wall! More than that, you'll gain the confidence and skills to keep creating long after the retreat ends.

I don’t trust ANYONE in the whole world to ship my paintings except for Matt!

Once you’re finished, Matt will use his one-of-a-kind techniques to package and ship your painting home for you.
You won’t have to worry about trying to get it through airport checkpoints or into the overhead compartments (Ah! Can you imagine! How awful!)
You’ll fly home with peace of mind knowing your paintings will arrive safe and sound in just a couple of days!

We’ll pick you up from the airport and shuttle you in style
to this wonderful luxury home.
Our private chef will prepare and cook each meal.
